1. Southern Ridges

Spanning a 10-kilometre distance of green open spaces, the Southern Ridges connects Mount Faber Park, Telok Blangah Hill Park, Hort Park, Kent Ridge Park and Labrador Nature Reserve. Kick-start your hike with a panoramic view of the Southern Islands by taking the Marang Trail to Mount Faber, before crossing Henderson Wave, Singapore’s highest pedestrian bridge towering at 36-metre above ground. Finally, be awakened to the sights and sounds of the nature at the Forest Walk located at the secondary forest of Telok Blangah Hill. Southern Ridges is only a 15 minutes’ drive from PARKROYAL on Beach Road.

2. MacRitchie Reservoir Trail and Reservoir Park

Located at Singapore’s oldest reservoir, begin from the Venus Drive carpark entrance to embark on the various sections along the 11-kilometre MacRitchie Reservoir Trail. The Chemperai Trail (Central Catchment Nature Reserve) presents a panoramic view of the reservoir and the surrounding dense rainforest. For a close encounter with nature and the creatures of the forest, take a one hour walk at the Prunus Trail.

Feeling a little adventurous? The Treetop Walk is an experience not to be missed! The first free-standing suspension bridge in Singapore is a seven-storey high suspended pathway that gives you an unrestricted view of the surrounding greenery. Besides hiking, the reservoir is also open for recreational activities like water sports and birdwatching. MacRitchie Reservoir Park is a 14 minutes' drive from our location.

3. Singapore Botanic Gardens

First launched 156 years ago, the Singapore Botanic Gardens is the country's first UNESCO Heritage Site. With over 10,000 species of flora resting on 60 acres of gorgeous landscape, the garden sees 4.5 million visitors yearly and is a star hit for tourists. From hiking, biking, and picnicking to the occasional outdoor classical music performances by Singapore Symphony Orchestra, the garden has plenty of activities for everyone.

For a more relaxing stroll, take a walk through the garden’s rainforest trail that grants you access to a living laboratory and a museum of its natural history. Be sure to visit the garden’s crown jewel, National Orchid Garden, and be awed by the arrays of rare orchids named after VIP who have visited the gardens like Chinese President Xi Jinping and his wife, Bollywood veteran Shah Rukh Khan and British anthropologist Jane Goodall. The Singapore Botanic Gardens is a 10 minutes' drive from us.

A variety of trails awaits you at Fort Canning Park! Want to catch a glimpse of Singapore’s history? Embark on the Colonial History Trail which features the park’s military history and the beautiful bungalow where Sir Stamford Raffles, the founder of Singapore, used to reside.

Enjoy a scenic two-kilometre walk to the enchanting Tree of the Fork Trail, which takes in the majesty of the Malayan Banyan tree and Singapore’s largest Madras thorns along the way, ending with the sight of the large native evergreen coastal tree, the Sea Beam. Fort Canning Park is just a quick five minutes’ drive from PARKROYAL on Beach Road.
